Bumps on the road of life

It has been a challenging week around here. After a harrowing experience where we found ourselves stranded on the side of the road with our bags of groceries, a dear friend came to rescue us! Finally home and unloading our groceries, we found this busted can of pizza dough. It made us laugh. Aside from the car, it was our only casualty but a great visual of how we felt.

What happened?

It’s been so fun to have the sisters together this week here with us. We’ve played games, taken golf cart rides looking for deer, lounged around in our Jammie’s, watched the sun and moon rises and more. On Thursday, on our way home from picking up groceries, Jesus took the wheel. Literally! Thank God we avoided a head on collision as a van headed down a hill crossed the center line and was headed right toward us. Jesus got us out of the way enough so that only the back passenger tire, panel was hit and also ripped off the bumper disabling the car. The van ended up down the hill where two of its occupants fled. No one was hurt . We unloaded all our groceries and stood on the side of the road waiting for our dear friend to come rescue us. Grateful to the Firemen who waited with us as it grew dark and chilly. Once home we discovered the busted can of pizza dough

Tom wasn’t with us nor could he come help us as he’s been down with an injury all week and in serious pain. He sees yet another doctor on Monday who we pray can provide a solution. We’ll also be picking up a rental. Again, our dear friends to the rescue by lending us a car.

You know, life has its ups and downs, but our God always delivers us through and in the process our faith is fueled.

If you are struggling today…press in to Him and cling to Him as He will see you through. Notice I did not say out. You may feel like a busted can of pizza dough … life may not look pretty but there is a lot of good in your busted can! (Making a meatball pie next week!)
