Crumb

This morning, I served myself a gluten free English muffin. After I finished I took a minute to savor the cuteness of the plate. But my sweet Jesus gave me something else to savor when the crumbs caught my eye.

He brought Matthew 15:21-28 to mind where the woman asked Jesus for crumbs of mercy. It’s a beautiful passage but often needs some explaining to truly understand the exchange. Here is the bottom line from Tony Evans commentary…

“This woman needed the Lord’s grace and wouldn’t let anything stand in the way—not her race, not Jesus’s silence, not her pride. And that’s exactly where Jesus wanted her to be. Woman, your faith is great, he told her, and then he healed her daughter. This Canaanite started with faith. Then, by persevering through a series of difficulties intended by God to take her deeper, she ended up with great faith.”
