You do you?

You do you?

Sometimes I get so tired of myself. I am so over me! A popular phrase…”you do you.” Trust me, you don’t want me to “do me”. I want to be more like Jesus and less and less like me. Honestly, it’s frustrating!

Do you ever feel that way?

On my more frustrating days, as I share (pray) all this frustration with the Lord it’s like He sits there quietly listening as I talk in circles. Finally, as I wind down, His Spirit brings to remembrance His Word in Philippians 1:6 which says:

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.”

So, I remind the Lord that He promised to finish what He started in me. I am not who I used to be and if I’m granted more years I, I won’t be who I am today. Truly a work in progress. Thank you Jesus. Praise Your holy name. End of conversation (prayer).

If you are over yourself and frustrated too, rest your mind. To quote another popular phrase, He’s “got you.” Let’s focus on knowing Him more by immersing ourselves in His precious Word while praying He will grow in us a love for Him that causes us to be obedient in all things (more like Jesus).

Glory be to God…that’s actually possible.

Have a good and godly day.
