Entry #1: Am I a bond slave of Christ?
This week, a friend of mine introduced me to Journibles. http://www.heritagebooks.org/categories/Journibles/
I decided not to invest in the books but to use my own empty and refillable notebook. So, today I started writing out 1 Peter. Verse by verse stopping to ponder and ask questions, pray, etc. Boy, talk about slowing you down. I only wrote down 2 verses before getting caught up in a wonderful and challenging conversation with the Lord. And who writes anymore? My handwriting has gotten horrible.
Today's questions to self:
1. How do I identify and introduce myself? Can I and should I introduce myself as a bondslave of Jesus Christ? Peter identifies himself as an apostle of Jesus Christ. in 2 Peter he introduces or identifies himself as a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ. Good biblical definition of a bondservant is described in Exodus 21:5–6. Peter knew his position and his purpose. #wow
2. Lord? Do I truly live as your bondslave?
3. If I truly thought of myself as a bondservant of Christ...identified myself as a bondservant of Jesus Christ, how would or should this order my steps each day? Keep me focused and intentional? Bold and courageous in my faith? Humble? Grateful? Lord, show me what is true of me.
I didn't get very far in my reading and writing of Scripture today but boy oh boy did the Spirit of God take me deep in thought. If you'd like to share your thoughts and answers to these 3 questions, I'd love to hear them.
