"Word" for the year?

Here there sweet friends! I’ve so enjoyed seeing your happy holiday pictures and recently your “word” for the year! I’ll look forward to hearing more about what our gracious God is showing you throughout this year.

Maybe like me you didn’t get a word to focus on for the year. Lord knows that as we look forward to a new year we long for a fresh word, fresh faith, fresh wonder. Lord also knows we need it because some years can sure drain us a bit dry. As I’ve been thinking on this, He reminded me of His Word which has already been given to me.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.” — The Bible, 2 Peter 1:3 (NIV)

As much as I want and would delight in a fresh word, I already have 66 books of His word to guide me. Do I really need more? Or do I just need a fresh mindset and heart to keep reading, re-reading, studying and treasuring in my heart what He has already said?

Oh my goodness! He has said so much! And my knowledge of Him…listening to His EVERY word combined with His divine power…. Well, I do have everything I need for life and godliness. May His written word be fresh every day.
