A sermon about eggs
There isn’t anything in life that doesn’t preach—that doesn’t carry a biblical parallel—if we’re paying attention.
Take this carton of eggs, for example. When I opened it, one egg immediately stood out. Unexpected. Different. I paused and thought… what kind of egg is this?
An odd egg—quirky, eccentric, endearing, or puzzling.
A strange egg—more observational, curious, maybe a little distant.
A bad egg—untrustworthy, harmful, something that can spoil the rest.
A good egg—dependable, kind, solid.
Then I found myself wondering before the Lord… which one am I?
Like it or not, my life affects those around me. My thoughts, my words, my actions—none of them exist in isolation. I am responsible before the Lord for what I carry and what I bring into the lives of others. And honestly, I needed that reminder.
And then I had one more thought…
Should “cracked” be added to the list?
