The goodness of God

The goodness of God

Last week’s storms came through with force—wind, rain, everything shaking. And now… everything is so green. Standing here looking out over this canopy of trees, you would never guess what came before it. Beneath all of this beauty is still a world full of everyday troubles, worries, and brokenness—but above it all, there is covering. GOD’s goodness is like this. It stretches farther than we can see, quietly resting over us even when life underneath feels heavy or uncertain. Just like these trees provide shade and something to lean on, HE covers, shelters, and gives rest to our souls. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1)

And just like the storms that felt harsh but made everything flourish, HE uses even the storms of life for good. I don’t fully understand how HE does that—I just know from experience that it’s true. The trees didn’t grow overnight… they grew through seasons, through storms, through both sunshine and rain. So do we. Sometimes we only see what’s happening beneath, but HIS goodness is still above, steady and present. “And we know that in all things GOD works for the good of those who love HIM.” (Romans 8:28)

You may not always see it. You may not always feel it. But GOD’s goodness is over you—growing something beautiful…if we let Him!
